Integrating Art and Science for Whole Health-Yoga Intensive and Teacher Training

This school setting has been in the works for some time, I am excited to offer this program to the community and surrounding areas.  My program was created to meet students’ varied interests:  those who wish to deepen their own practice and personal understanding of what the path of Yoga fully encompasses and those who wish to become community leaders and develop class and workshop offerings in their own areas.  As we go into the training we will work with the whole – body, mind, spirit.  Guest teachers will be utilized, bringing their expertise to the classroom.  Created with the understanding that change cannot come from only practicing asana, my program will address the emotional/mental body as well as the Spirit – the process of integration – in order to become whole so that we may move, breathe and take action from conscious awareness.  The curriculum is well rounded and suited for all.  May you join me on this path of awakening, allowing Yoga to be the catalyst for positive change in your life.

I am keeping the group to 10 to ensure individual and personal attention throughout the journey

Sagel Urlacher-I feel blessed to have found the Shala Institute Teacher Training Program! Amy is a remarkable, passionate teacher who has developed and delivers a powerful life-transforming workshop!  Providing individualized attention to each student in the class, Amy gives generously of herself and of her time to each student, meeting them where they are, insightfully guiding them to seek and see their highest potential and inner gifts and walk confidently into them.  Her program provides unique opportunities for the students to connect with the community, bringing extraordinary benefits to both.  Amy is passionate about the practice, role-modeling the teachings and fully living the path she teaches.  She’s extremely knowledgeable, having studied with numerous renowned teachers throughout the globe, and always learning, she continues to teach nationally and abroad, bringing new wisdom back to her students and the studio. Her program’s curriculum is diverse and rich, joining asanas, yoga philosophy, development of Sangha community, real life practical methodologies, and nutrition into a holistic and inspiring, life-changing experience. Amy’s wisdom, dedication, and leadership in this practice are amazing gifts she very graciously offers to her students, the studio, and the yoga community.  It’s been a true honor to be a part of this Sangha and to share in this journey with our class and Amy’s compassionate and skilled mentorship. I would highly recommend this program to anyone interested in teaching yoga or looking to deepen their own practice.

Katey Branch-I highly recommend the Shala Institute of Yoga Teacher Training with Amy Figoli. The training is both thorough and allows students to make their own way through the program with supportive guidance. Amy is a thoughtful and inspiring teacher who models her teaching style, compassionate caring for her students and leadership with clear intention. Beyond learning yoga poses and intelligent sequencing, a community is built with the students delving deeply into understanding the larger life of yoga and learning how we are all connected and how we can assist each other and our own students evolution. It is a fabulous training ground for life and becoming a real teacher, one who provides an opportunity for others to discover and access their own wisdom and bring that out into the world. Amy shares her knowledge and time with her students and encourages each one to discern how to take her teachings and make them their own. This experience has been deeply healing and rewarding for me. I was recovering from breast cancer and the introspection, caring community, the daily practice and being held in such a strong and loving container has allowed me to address very old issues and to come to a new place of self-acceptance and self-loving. I am very grateful for the gift of this training and I am excited to share all that I have learned through this process with others.
It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.– Albert Einstein
